Welcome to this online Discussion Room for Doulas in Australia and New Zealand.
This online forum has been set up so that doulas in New Zealand and Australia can have discussions about their work, and offer support and encouragement to one another. Registration on the online forum is free (I am paying the costs myself to encourage doulas to join in!)
If you are interested please complete the form here and click on "send" and I will contact you to give you more info about registration.
I am a birth and postnatal doula who moved to New Zealand from the UK early in 2002 and I am interested to be in contact with other doulas on this side of the world.
Before I left the UK, I was part of a group of doulas who helped set up a doula association called Doula UK - a network of doulas run by doulas. I created and still maintain their website. If you would like information about what a doula is, and what a doula does, please check out the Doula UK website.
I also worked voluntarily as a birth doula with a small charity called Birth Companions - we offer doula support to women in Holloway Prison in London. I am still a Trustee of that group.
I would love to hear from you if you are a doula in New Zealand or Australia. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or please join us on the online forum!
